Welcome to the Citrus County Florida Chapter of The Military Officers Association of America
|

Welcome to our Web Site!
We are an independent, self-governing, and self supporting organization that has chosen
voluntarily to affiliate with the National MOAA for the purpose of cooperation and mutual
support in attaining common goals. Principal among these goals is service to four
constituencies in our community:
Potential service members, students, their families and the community as a whole
Active-Duty individuals and their families
Current Veterans and their families
Families of Veterans who have passed
Our members are former uniformed officers of the Marine Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force,
Coast Guard, Public Health Service and the Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration.
Some of us served many years and some served briefly, but all served and continue to feel
that calling. If that feeling is mutual, “Welcome Aboard”. You will discover that we are a
“hardly retired” group that is deeply and enthusiastically involved in our community and
beyond. A look at our latest newsletter will give a snapshot of some of the things we do
view our latest monthly newsletter.
Whether you are a long-time member of MOAA, or someone, eligible for membership, who
has never joined, I encourage you to check us out and, better yet, join us for lunch at our
next monthly meeting. We meet monthly for lunch, camaraderie, a brief business meeting
and to hear from a guest speaker. We gather about 11:30 on the first Thursday of each
month (except Dec and Jun-Aug) at the Emperor’s Garden @ 1314 Hwy 41N in Inverness, Fl.
In addition to our monthly meetings, our social activities include picnics in the spring and
fall, a dinner theater matinée in the spring, a December installation dinner and a “Summer
Time Blues” luncheon at a great seafood restaurant in July.
I still remember a cliché from my active duty days: Lead, Follow, or Get Out of the Way. All of
us at the Citrus County Chapter of MOAA have chosen to LEAD. Won’t you join us?

Citrus County Veteran's Foundation: Is always in need of donations. Admiral McLeod and the foundation are asking you to consider a donation to this cause. This is the real thing, where you may be putting meat and potatoes on a veteran's table until the end of the month or helping him with that one month's rent so he can get his head back above water. So please give this excellent cause some serious thought. Please send your donation to:
